Privacy Policy

SwapMingle (“SwapMingle,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you when you use the SwapMingle mobile application and related services.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Account Information

When you create a SwapMingle account, we collect information such as:

Your email address is not displayed publicly on your SwapMingle profile.

If you choose to enable biometric sign-in, sign-in credentials may be stored securely on your device using operating-system secure storage so that you can sign in using Face ID or other supported biometric authentication.

Location Information

SwapMingle does not request or collect GPS location data.

You may provide a city, ZIP code, or similar location when using SwapMingle. We may convert that location into approximate geographic coordinates so that we can show items and users within your selected visibility radius.

Your approximate city or location label may be visible to other users. Your stored latitude and longitude are not displayed publicly.

Retailer accounts may optionally provide a physical business address. If provided, that address may be displayed publicly on the retailer’s profile.

Users may also voluntarily provide meetup locations when arranging exchanges. These locations are visible to the participants involved in that exchange.

User-Generated Content

We collect and store information you choose to create or share through SwapMingle, including:

Some of this content is public, including public profiles, item listings, Swap Stories, comments, and reviews.

Messages inside Swap Rooms, Cash Offers, and Groups are generally limited to the users or members participating in those conversations.

Cash Offers

SwapMingle allows users to communicate proposed dollar amounts as part of a swap or cash offer.

SwapMingle does not process payments, store payment card information, transfer money between users, or act as a payment processor. Any dollar amounts entered in SwapMingle are used only to communicate or negotiate an offer.

Usage Information

We may collect information about how you interact with SwapMingle, including:

We use this information to operate the service, improve the user experience, and provide personalized recommendations within SwapMingle.

SwapMingle does not use this information for cross-app advertising or tracking.

Device and Notification Information

If you enable notifications, we may collect a push-notification token and device platform information so that we can send you notifications about SwapMingle activity.

We do not collect advertising identifiers such as IDFA for advertising or tracking purposes.

Photos and Camera

With your permission, SwapMingle may access your photo library or camera so that you can add images to:

Used for account authentication, database hosting, file storage, realtime functionality, and backend services.

Expo
Used for application infrastructure and push-notification services.

Apple Push Notification Service
Used to deliver notifications to Apple devices.

Brevo
Used to send certain transactional emails, such as welcome messages and communications relating to reports.

OpenStreetMap Nominatim
Used to convert a city, ZIP code, or other location you provide into approximate geographic coordinates.

Apple Maps or other map applications
May be opened on your device when you choose to view a retailer address.

These providers process information only as necessary to provide their respective services.

5. ADVERTISING AND TRACKING

SwapMingle does not currently:

SwapMingle may use your activity inside the app to provide personalized recommendations within SwapMingle.

6. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

SwapMingle uses service providers including Supabase to store and process account information, user-generated content, photographs, messages, and other app data.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. BIOMETRIC SIGN-IN

If you enable Face ID or another supported biometric sign-in method, SwapMingle uses your device’s biometric authentication system.

SwapMingle does not receive or store your biometric face data.

Credentials used to enable biometric sign-in may be stored locally using secure device storage.

8. NOTIFICATIONS

You may choose whether to allow SwapMingle to send push notifications.

Notifications may relate to matches, messages, Swap Rooms, Cash Offers, Groups, comments, mentions, reactions, reviews, or other activity.

You can change notification permissions through your device settings and applicable settings inside SwapMingle.

Depending on the feature, you may:

10. ACCOUNT DEACTIVATION AND DELETION

Deactivating your account is different from permanently cancelling your account.

Deactivation hides or disables your account but does not delete your information.

If you permanently cancel your SwapMingle account, we delete your authentication account and remove or delete substantial portions of your associated data, including certain account identifiers, item images, avatar images, push tokens, swipe history, activity records, and other account information.

Some information may remain after account cancellation where necessary to preserve the integrity of interactions involving other users, maintain transaction or conversation history, address safety or legal obligations, resolve disputes, or maintain records relating to Groups, reports, reviews, messages, comments, or completed exchanges.

Remaining information may be disassociated from an active account where appropriate.

11. DATA REQUESTS

SwapMingle provides a way for users to submit a request for access to their data.

Requests may require manual processing and are not necessarily fulfilled instantly or through an automated download.

You may also contact us directly regarding a privacy or data request.

12. CHILDREN

SwapMingle is not intended for children under 13.

If we learn that personal information has been collected from a child under 13 in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

13. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as SwapMingle changes.

If we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this policy. Continued use of SwapMingle after an updated policy becomes effective constitutes use of the service under the updated policy.
